Is it true to say that most 'devout' Christian were people never felt loved in their early life?

2 of my christian friends were abused by their parents during childhood, 1 was sent away to another country at a very early age and never felt loved, they both became active church member and got involved deeply with the church, is it true to say that their lack of love life was the main reason for them to become christian?
