Is Chivralry Dead?

I'm just naturally chivralrous when it comes to women. Not really on a corny level but so many women I've dealt with in the past seem to constantly see it as condescending. It literally seems to hurt my chances. A vast majority seem to think I'm doing it to get in their pants in leave 'em (when really, if that's all the effort was going to amount to, I wouldn't be going through the headache of trying). Either mildly or extremely obnoxious guys seem to get the girl. I only tend to be obnoxious when I have something on my mind. But when I try to let my guard down and be more blunt, suddenly I'm just being an @sshole, yet it seems fine with anyone else. Is chivrarly dead and just a joke in terms of socializing with women or is it still alive. Opinions from the women definately needed.
